Soda ash of A and B grades is used in the manufacture of all types of glass, including crystal, optical and medical glass, glass blocks, foam glass, soluble sodium silicate, ceramic tiles, frit component for glazes; also used in ferrous and non-ferrous metallurgy for the production of lead, zinc, wolframium, strontium, chromium for desulphurisation and dephosphorisation of raw iron, for the purification of exhaust gases, for neutralizing of environments.
Technical soda ash (sodium carbonate) – white powder or granule. Chemical formula - Na2CO3. Soda ash is a hygroscopic product, which absorbs moisture and carbon dioxide from the air to form an acid salt NaHCO3. Cakes when stored outdoors. Aqueous solutions of soda ash have intensive alkaline reaction. Soda ash is produced in two variants: A (granulated) and B (powder).
Field of application Soda ash of A and B grades is used in the manufacture of all types of glass, including crystal, optical and medical glass, glass blocks, foam glass, soluble sodium silicate, ceramic tiles, frit component for glazes; also used in ferrous and non-ferrous metallurgy for the production of lead, zinc, wolframium, strontium, chromium for desulphurisation and dephosphorisation of raw iron, for the purification of exhaust gases, for neutralizing of environments. Soda ash of premium grade A with strictly standardized grain size distribution is used for the production of electron-tube glass. Soda ash grade B is used in chemical industry for the production of detergents and fatty acids, for the purification of brines, in the production of phosphorus, chromium, barium and sodium salts as a carbonate-containing raw material, used in the production of glycerols, allyl alcohol, pulp and paper, paint and oil industries.
